The Texas Growers’ Project was a wonderful opportunity to dive back into the regenerative agriculture world after taking some time off to have a baby. The whole family traveled to the Lubbock, Texas area where I spent several days filming interviews and b-roll of the West Texas landscapes. As it was February, the biggest challenge was getting b-roll of fields that were full of dried up stalks and cover crops. We also dealt with strong wind that almost took my drone off and away!

I was able to use footage from that trip along with other cotton clips I’ve taken in the past and photos from the USDA from fields in the area. The four resulting videos span subjects from the Quarterway Cotton Growers gin, a legacy of cotton growing families, and the challenges of farming in an area with a depleted aquifer and soil that is hard to keep in one place.
